The best of the best are celebrated with MRC’s highest honor

March 22, 2022

Each year, each MRC entity awards the most prestigious honor in the organization to a deserving individual. These winners are first nominated by their peers, supervisors or residents. The criteria is specifically tied to MRC’s ICARE values: integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence. Each nomination details ways that the candidate exemplifies these values in their work each day and may even give specific examples how this person has taken outstanding action in a tough situation.

Next, the nominations go to a committee comprised of Executive Directors and Executive Team members. Each nominee’s name as well as any other identifiers are redacted from the form so that the candidates are judged on their merit alone.  Once the winners are selected, they are kept top secret until the name is unveiled at the annual Christmas party.  Each winner is presented with an ICARE Champion certificate along with a check for $1,000.  Later in the year, this collection of super stars are honored with a day trip to The Woodlands complete with a fantastic brunch with Board Members, followed by an afternoon of pampering at a high end salon and spa.

“This is a highly deserving group of folks. They are  the absolute best of the best! From incredible stories of  resilience, to going the extra mile, or getting a laugh, these are the employees who are making it happen, day in and day out. Being named the ICARE Champion is a title given to those who are truly championing the values that make MRC a special place to live and work,” explains Frances Beltran, MRC VP of Human Resources.
