Celebrating 20 Years

March 13, 2024

Providing low-income housing to seniors in Bryan has been a foundational part of MRC’s ministry since 1981, when MRC opened its first Affordable Housing property, Crestview Terrace, later joined by Crestview Place four years later. With additional room to build, Crestview Unity was opened in 2004 to be the third Affordable Housing community in Bryan, each neighboring one another. Since opening its doors twenty years ago, Crestview Unity has served thousands of seniors in need of quality housing supplemented by HUD (The Department of Housing and Urban Development).

The community boasts of a dog park, walking paths, a large covered patio, and a multi-purpose room where gatherings are hosted each week. The property also provides a “General Store” offering complimentary food panty items and basic toiletries. Affordable Housing at MRC is more than just housing alone, the team at Crestview Unity provide a multitude of programs and social opportunities to enhance the lives of those who call the community home.

“For twenty years, these 63 apartments have represented life altering opportunities to those in need. With such a great team in place, each committed to deeply connecting with residents, there is no doubt the mission will continue to thrive at Crestview Unity for many more years to come,” shared Cassidy Currie, MRC Affordable Housing’s Associate Executive Director.

“It has been a blessing to be able to serve the residents here and meet their needs.  I love that I get to pray with them and connect spiritually as well as socially. It is really awesome to help people who are in need of this type housing, it’s very fulfilling.”-Chris Espinoza, Crestview Unity’s Property Manager
