What is Alzheimer's?

Alzheimer's is a progressive disease that impairs individuals' memory and other mental and cognitive functions. Without a known cure for Alzheimer's, PineCrest is dedicated to providing exceptional care and the highest quality of life for its residents through all stage of Alzheimer's.

What is Dementia?

Dementia does not describe one disease specifically but a group of symptoms that impair individuals' memory, cognitive and social abilities. While there are many different forms of dementia, Alzheimer's is the most common form.

The PineCrest Difference

Alzheimer's and dementia can cause behaviors and reactions that are often not seen as "normal" and can be dangerous to an individual in the wrong setting. Instead of trying to enforce "normal" behaviors, our center is specifically designed to make residents feel safe and secure, without the stress of feeling locked in or monitored. With an open layout, accessible outdoor space and nurses who encourage safe exploration, individuals are able to live happily and safely.
