MRC Affordable Housing communities offer rental apartment living in a peaceful setting that is complimented by a variety of convenient services and amenities. Subsidized by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), these communities cater specifically to active senior adults, age 62 or better, who are on a low or fixed income.
We strive to create safe, attractive, and well-maintained properties where seniors can enjoy numerous social gatherings and educational programs that help them age successfully.
How do I know if I qualify for an apartment?
Residents must be active older adults, 62 years of age or better, and meet the Gross Income Limit.
How much will my rent be?
Rent is based on 30% of an applicant's adjusted gross income (AGI) and is subsidized by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Contact an Affordable Housing community counselor for help identifying your potential rent amount.
What is adjusted gross income?
Residents living in HUD housing developments may not have annual income exceeding the established Gross Income Limit. In addition to annual income, a portion of your assets, and portions of earned interest on assets, may be counted as income. The combination of both income and qualifying assets make up the AGI and must be at or below the current Gross Income Limit to qualify for residency.
