Welcome

Welcome to Methodist Retirement Communities (MRC), a not-for-profit 501(C)(3) charitable service ministry related to the Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church providing senior housing and health care services in East Texas for over 40 years. Although affiliated with the United Methodist Church, MRC welcomes residents of all faiths, without regard to race, color, or national origin.

MRC began its service to senior adults in 1962 when it opened its first independent living facility in Galveston at the Moody House, a property that was a gift to the United Methodist Church in memory of W.L. Moody, Jr. Today the MRC network includes six campuses throughout East Texas, including Galveston, Huntsville, Bryan, La Porte, Lufkin, and Texarkana. Most MRC campuses are full-service retirement complexes that provide a wide array of housing options for seniors.
